Project Leader:

Brandon O’Neal

About this Project:

Northwood Church is partnering with SURGE to serve and evangelize in remote villages along the Rio Coco river, which is located on the border of Honduras and Nicaragua.  Our team will travel by canoe up the Rio Coco, serving these villages in light construction efforts and holding daily evangelistic outreaches.  Some of the areas we will minister to have never heard the gospel in their own language.  This trip will be filled with hard work, daily evangelistic outreaches, sleeping under the stars in tents and bathing in the river.  This will truly be a once in a life time experience!

*There will be a least three team meetings before trip departure, your team leader will advise.  All team members are required to attend all team meetings.

Who may come:

Adults ages 18 and older (mature youth considered if space allows).  All team members must be able to fully participate and function within a primitive environment.

What are the accommodations:

Our team will stay in tents either along the Rio Coco river or in one of the remote villages.  We will eat, live and serve among the indigenous Miskito Indians.  We will travel daily in groups by canoe and hike to villages.  The living conditions you will experience on this trip will be very primitive.

What we will eat:

Meals are included.  We will eat at local restaurants or in local villages we are serving in.  All participants will be responsible for their own snacks during the trip.

What you will need:

You will need to bring all personal hygiene products, toiletries, medications, comfortable clothes and shoes, personal testimony to share, valid passport, and spending money for food/snacks or souvenirs.
