About this Project:
We will be traveling to north Mississippi to serve and visit the Palmer Home Orphanage. Palmer Home is a Christian organization that provides residential care to nearly 100 children on two campuses in Columbus and Hernando, Mississippi. Servicing individual children as well as sibling groups, Palmer Home provides a family and community to children in need. Our team will have the opportunity to serve through various group projects such as: small construction projects, landscaping, cleaning, painting, organized children activities and much more. There will be many opportunities throughout the week to connect with these children and show them the love of Christ.
*There will be a least three team meetings before trip departure, your team leader will advise. All team members are required to attend all team meetings.
Who may come:
Adults ages 18 and older (mature youth considered if room allows).
All team members must be able to fully participate in various group projects.
What are the accommodations:
Our team will stay at the Palmer Home in Columbus, MS. You will share a dorm style room with at least 2 or 3 other teammates (men in one room and women in the other). Each participant will be provided with a twin size bed. You must bring your own sleeping bag (or sheet and blanket) and pillow.
What we will eat:
All of your meals are provided at the Palmer Home. Participants will be responsible for their own snacks during the trip and/or meals on travel days.
What should I bring:
You will need to bring all personal hygiene products, sleeping bag or sheet/blanket, pillow, towels, closed toe shoes, work shorts and t-shirts, clothes to get wet in, work gloves and protective eye wear, sunscreen, and spending money on travel days.
